OBITUARY
Mr Halter Raleigh Ramsey , the son of the late Anna and William Joseph Ramsey Jr., was born in Lincolnton, Georgia, on January 3, 1904. He departed this life on April 7, 1992 after a brief illness.
He was educated at Mr. Zion school in Lincolnton, and Walker Baptist Institute in Augusta, Ga. It was at Walker Baptist that he met his late wife, Gladys Eulin Ramsey of Hepzibah, Ga., who predeceased his after 54 years of marriage. Of this union two children were born, Walter R. Ramsey Jr., who predeceased his father on September 18 1992, and Gloria R. Lucas of Hempstead, N.Y. with whom he lived at the time of his death.
He is survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his sister Eula Mae Johnson of Augusta, Ga., a sister-in-law Carrie Ramsey of Hartwell, Ga., 22 nieces and nephews, one son-in-law Roy A. Lucas.
Walter was a loving Father, adored grandfather ("Poppy"), loving brother and beloved uncle; a devoted friend to Mrs. Ernestine Johnson, and Dorothy C. Johnson, a long time family friend.
It is a comfort to us knowing he is in Gods hands. While he will be missed, he left us all with the loving memories of a good man. His love, caring, compassion and patience for his family and friends leaves us all the better for his having been part of our lives.
