OBITURY
We all bow in humble submission to the will of the Almighty G-od, who does all things well.
It has pleases God to remove from our midst our beloved husband, father, and grandfather: hr. Bayfield Raiford, on May 5, 1983.
Rayfield was born on Dec. 26, 1916 in Edgefield, S.C., to the late Mrs. Laura Blocker Raiford and Mr. Joesph Raiford. He was baptised in the name of Jesus and became a member of the Bland Baptist Church in S.C..
Bay left home as a young man and came to N.J. where he met his wife and married. He was a devoted husband and father, with a kind heart and allway willing to do for others, he later became known in the community as "Big Daddy".
In mourning he leaves his wife, Anna and eleven children, eight daughters; Mrs. Hazel Ingram & Lois Raiford of Elizabeth; Mrs. Laura Grayer & Mrs. Nancy Sherrod of Plainfield; Alma Raiford of Somerset; Mrs. Valerie Watson of Rahway; Mrs. Anna Johnson & Mrs. Jacqueline Hall of Fitchburg Mass.; one adopted daughter Mrs. Marie Floyd; three sons; Kenneth Raiford of Newark; Raymond and Thomas Raiford of Edison, 26 grandchildren, three sisters; Miss Rebecca Raiford of Ridgespring, S.C.; Mrs. Rosa Hartley of Aiken, S.C.; and Mrs. Alma Jennings of Titusville, Fla.; one brother; Mr. Abraham Raiford of Ridgespring, S.C.; six son-in-laws one daughter-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews relatives and friends.
