Percy LeRoy Quinn, "PQ", was born to the late Ramsey and Bessie Dorsey Quinn on October 21, 1921, in Columbia County. He lived most of his life in Augusta.

His early education was in the Augusta-Richmond County School System and Paine High School.

He completed his undergraduate education at West Virginia State College earning a B.S. Degree in Industrial Arts. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in Trade and Industry from the University of Georgia. Post-graduate" requirements were completed in Diversified Cooperative Training (DCT) at Georgia Southern and Radiological Monitoring for Instructors at University of Georgia.

He was a retired educator of the Richmond County School System after 32 years of dedicated ser vice to the school and community. His memberships included Richmond County Association of Education, Georgia Association of Educators, National Education Association (NEA), Member of the State Association of DCT. , ...... -

At an early age, he made his religious affiliation with Williams Memorial CME Church. : ;

He dearly loved and married Constance Marie Brown. To this union three daughters were born:

Melody Denise, Angelus Marie, and Vonda Lee.

His business ventures and social clubs include: Owner of the Lodge Restaurant on Laney-Walker

Boulevard; part owner of Our Shop, a clothing store; First African-American to be a distributor for the

Canada Dry Company; in retirement he owned and operated his own free-lance lawn care service; Life-

member KAPPA ALPHA PSI Fraternity; Life-member Ambassadors Bridge Club; Member 13

Gentlemen Club.

His awards and honors included: Distinguished co-ordinator of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) Program Augusta Almuni Chapter of KAPPA ALPHA PSI Fraternity for 35 years of faithful service Dedicated leader of DCT (Diversified Co-Operative Training) Program Served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II

Surviving family members include: his wife, Mrs. Constance Brown Quinn; three lovely daughters, Mrs. Melody Quinn Kenner, Stone Mountain, GA; Mrs. Angelus Quinn Abraham, Martinez, GA; Ms. Vonda Lee Quinn, Augusta, GA; one aunt, Mrs. Corine Swaggert, Philadelphia, PA; three wonderful grandchildren, Ms. Nichelle Marea Protho, Los Angeles, CA.; Mr. Brian Thomas Kenner, Stone Mountain, GA; Ms. Traci Angelus Kenner, Stone Mountain, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Clinton Brown, Augusta, Ga; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Brown, Augusta, GA; dear cousins, Juanita Douglas, Ella Jones, Cora Bell, Harold Quinn and a host of other relatives and friends.
