Time is not measured by the years that you live, but by the deeds that you do and the joy that you give.
MARY LEAN REESE PARKS, was born in Appling, GA, Columbia County, on September 5, 1939 to the late Mary Willie Hicks Moment and the late James H. Moment. She departed this life on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at her residence.
She was converted and baptized at an early age and joined the Simonia Baptist Church where she was a faithful member.
She attended school in Columbia County (Appling, GA). She was employed at the University Hospital from 1976 to 1984 (retired due to disability). She attended Phillips College in 1988 in which she attained a Certificate for Nurse's Assistant and worked with private duty home health care.
She was involved with the Neighborhood Association, formerly the Weed and Seed Program, in Barton Village, where she held office as the chaplain; nurtured, fed and counseled the youth from the neighborhood. She loved to talk and counsel anyone that she came in contact with. She never met a stranger. She was a member of the Seniors Organization at the Bell Terrace Community Center.
She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Her granddaughter, Christin, loved her dearly and stayed and cared for her throughout the last months of her illness.

If Y ou C ould See W here I Have G one
If you could see where I have gone, The beauty of this place.
And how it feels to know you're home, To see the Savior's face.
To wake in peace and know no fears, Just joy beyond compare.
While still on earth you miss me yet, You wouldn't want me there,
If you could see where I have gone. If you could see where I have gone,
You'll know we'll meet some day. And though I'm parted from you now,
That I am just away. And now that I'm home with Him,
Secure in every way, I'm waiting here at Heaven's door,
To greet you some sweet day. I am ok.
