Dear Granddad,
We can truly say that you were a great husband, father and granddad. We have shared many good times together. I know you 're follow ing the path G od has laid fo r you. You took His hand when you heard Him call, you didn 7 look back you left it all. You could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, work in the yard or play. I know your life has savored .much, fam ily, good friends, good times, a love ones touch. Granddad it's going to get hard and I'm sure we 're going to say what are we going to do, but I 'll always hear you saying ju st keep praying just like you. God has taken you where there is everlasting rest. We w ill always remember you in our thoughts and keep you close in our hearts.

Obituary
W alter "Buck" Parkman, Sr. son of the late
George Parkman and Queen Esther Cheatham Parkman, was bom March 18, 1920, in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
At an early age, he was baptized at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church. In later years he united with Mealing Grove Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon. Toward the sunset o f his life, he united with the Church o f his family roots - Jeter Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and President o f the Senior Choir until his health declined.
He was married to Mary Lee Smith Parkman. To this union four children were bom, Addie Mae Dunbar, W alter Parkman, Jr., Queen Esther DeLeon and Doris Jean King.
He retired from Georgia Power Company after 31 years o f dedicated service.
He is survived by: a loving wife, Mary Lee Smith Parkman; three daughters, Addie Mae Dunbar, Queen Esther DeLeon and Doris Jean King; one son, W alter Parkman, Jr.; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sons-in-law, Charlie Dunbar, Hector DeLeon and Richard King, Jr.; one brother, Caleb Shedrick, Sr.; one sister, Marie King; three sisters-in-law, Rosa Lee Cummings, Georgia Mae Jefferson and Bessie Smith; and a host o f nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
