Host Improved Young Lady
By: Tykiah Palmer - October 7, 2009
My name is Tykiah Palmer. I'm 15 years old and a student at Butler High School and I believe I am the most improved young lady. I feel that I'm the most improved young lady, because I have come a long way to being the person I am today. Speaking of the child I was last year and it was not easy. I had a lot of help.
Last year I had a lot of struggles and hold back. I feel there is nothing that can bring me down, because I would not let anything or anyone get me to that point. I was failing in all my classes, because of the 1 people that I hung around, played with, argue with and fought with. One day I realized that all those things aren't worth falling behind. Then I got on track at the last minute. It was almost too late and that's when I went to alternative school. I really got on the ball then.
It was amazing how I pulled all my grades up in so little time. From there I got all the credits I needed to go to the next grade. That's why I feel like I'm the most improved young lady. I have plenty of goals that I have set for myself, something I should have done last year, but it's never too late. I am now in the 10th grade. I am doing great in school. I've moved on to see the greater things in life.

I, Tykiah feel that I am a better person and I can do anything when I put my mind to it. I will not let anything bring me down. I plan on moving to my next grade. I will get a job when I am o f age. I will do better for myself if not for anybody else. I proved to myself that I can do it. So if nobody else believe in me, I believe in myself. My goal is to get good grades, so I can get accepted into any college and I will achieve my goal if I keep going the rate that I am on.

I will encourage others to do the same. I will not be the one to put

anyone down, because I have been put down plenty o f times. I'm

mature enough to know how to act like a young lady and be the person

that God has put me here to be.

These are the reasons I feelthat I am the most improved young lady.

To those I Love and those Who Loved Me
When lam gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourselfto me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love - you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness. I thank youfor the love you each have shown,
But now it's time to travel alone. So grieve awhilefor me, if grieve you must,
Then let your griefhe comforted by trust. I t's onlyfor a while that we must part. So bless the memories within you heart.
I won 't befar awayfor life goes on. So i f you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me, I 'll be near, And ifyou listen with your heart, you will hear All o f my love aroundyou, soft and clear. And when, when you must come this way alone, I 'll greet you with a smile and a "Loving Kiss. "

Grandma, w ill await for your "Hey"
A grandmother's love cannot be measured It covers all your hurts, your mistakes, your worries and your cares. I hug you with my Arms ofprotection that you mayfeel safe
I encourage you that you may know that Life is more than what you see.
What I loved the most about you was your strength and ability
To endure no matter what the circumstances were. The cohesiveness o fyour
Smile touched the hearts o f many. What I already miss is:
"Hey grandma "when you entered the room "Bye grandma " when you left the room
And "thank you grandma "for whatever I gave No matter how large or how small.
On 2/17/10, when you said "bye grandma " three times as ifyou could not hear my response.
I did not know this would be the Last time I hear you say "Bye Grandma "
Reminded me o f the story o fSamuel, when he approached Eli three times
And said you called me. 1 Samuel chapter 3 Your legacy will be remembered By all o f those you touched.

I'll See You Again

Don't cryfor me, but rejoice; Rejoice for la m free.
No more suffering in this world down here; Heaven is the place I will be. I 'm living in a building Not made by man's hands. I 'm in a place o f no sadness Wherejoy will never end. I 'll see you again On the other side o f the shore. I havefound my home in Glory
Where I will praise Him ever more.
