Senior P astor; V eteran R epresentative
{ (Ja w ied - id io lcA a / F cl iviP er^ went home to glory on March 11,2006, at
the Veterans Administration Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. He was the eldest son of Isaiah and Harriett Oliver, who preceded him in death.
He attended the elementary and secondary schools in Jacksonville and graduated from the William M. Raines High School. He later attended Tampa Technical College before entering the United States Army.
Pastor Oliver served meritoriously in the Army from 1982 -1992, when he retired with a medical dis charge. Upon completion of his military career, he enrolled in the Sociology Degree Program at Paine College and graduated in 1996, with his Bachelor Degree. He was also enrolled in the Masters De gree Program at Troy State University, Augusta, Georgia.
He was employed at the Georgia Department of Labor as a Veteran Representative. One of his passions was working with the youth, and he worked with the CASA Organization as a child advocate.
When he moved to Augusta, he joined the Living Waters Full Gospel Community Church, where Rever end Oscar Whitehead is the Pastor. He later became a partner in The Way of Life Ministries Interna tional.
In 1996, he married Medinah Lendor and they worked faithfully together in their ministry. He was a devoted and beloved husband and father who encouraged and exhorted each one in the family. He was devoted to the ministry of the Word of God, and was ordained at The Way of Life Ministries International by Overseer Betty Anderson under the confirmation by the Presiding Prelate Reverend Dr. E.T. Martin, Pastor of Historic Springfield Baptist Church.
As Senior Pastor he set the example of a Christ centered life. His was a leadership of compassion and love for everyone. As Senior Pastor he ordained three ministers of the gospel, Pastor Patricia Pearson, Deacon Joseph Evans, Sr. and Evangelist Elaine P. Mitchell. He was a powerful and dy namic teacher and preacher of the Word of God. The radio broadcast that he presented from 20002002 reached many people who testified that they were encouraged or received the Lord as their Savior. His leadership led to the proposal for a Community of Hope to fulfill the mission of The Way of Life Ministries International. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, land was purchased forthe Commu nity at 2301 Old McDuffie Road in Augusta. The completion of this project will be a memorial to his dedication and service to the work of the Lord.
He was devoted to family and friends who rejoice at his homegoing: his beloved wife and Co-Pastor, Joanne Medinah Lendor-Oliver; three children, Unique Lendor (Marla) of Charlotte, North Carolina, AsSalaam Lendor (Paulette) of Brooklyn, New York and Precious Lendor of Augusta, Georgia; five grand children, Alandai Lendor, Alyssa Lendor, DaHeaven Lendor, Angel Lendor and Elliesha R ichins;four brothers, Phillip Oliver (Lillian), Terry Oliver, Ronald Oliver (Elizabeth) and William Oliver (Brenda); two sisters, Tamara Cash (Timmothy) and Deborah Anderson (Corey); mother-in-law, Mrs. Eugenia Morris of Brooklyn, New York; three brothers-in-law, Myron Morris (Doreen) of Toronto, Canada, Adrian Morris (Maria) of Brooklyn, New York and Ruthven Morris of Trinidad, West Indies; one sister-in-law, Hazel Newton (Martin) of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

G od looked around the Garden And found an empty space
He looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face.
G od 's Garden must be beautiful For He only picks the best
He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest.

He knew that you were weary And He knew you were in pain He knew that you would never
Be well again.
He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, uPeace Be T hin e."

Perhaps you sang a lovely song, or sat quietly in a chair; Perhaps you sent beautiful flowers, if so, we saw them there. Perhaps you sent or spoke kind words as any friend can say; Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Perhaps you prepared some tasty food, or maybe furnished a car; Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, near at hand or from afar. What ever you did to console the heart, we thank you so much - whatever the part.
