RICHARD MALLORY O'BRYANT was born on October 28, 1955 in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Alfred O'Bryant and Janie Maddox O'Bryant.
For twenty-five years, he was employed as a construction maintenance technician with the Augusta Richmond County Commission.
On November 13, 2013, Mr. O'Bryant departed this life at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
Survivors are: his wife, Martas O'Bryant; sons, Dominic O'Bryant and Taveron Hester; daughter, Olivia O'Bryant; step daughters, Tiffany Rogers, Chevae Nipple, Lexus Wigfall; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Frankie (Lemorne) Piner, Jessie (Roy) Gibbons, Lizzie (Ulysses) Watson, Joyce Smith, Bertha Gambrel, M ichelle O'Bryant, Augusta, GA and Aquanita (Joe) Chance, Savannah, Georgia; five brothers, Alfred (Mamie) O'Bryant, Charlie O'Bryant, Edward O'Bryant, Maurice (Mary Ann) O'Bryant, Augusta, Georgia and Carl O'Bryant, Norfolk, Virginia; three aunts, Reverend DeBirdie Pugh, Washington, DC, Carrie Patricia Park and Maddie Maddox, Augusta, Georgia; father and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Lola Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It was not what you had, nor even what you have done, which directly expresses the worth o f you, but who you are. My life with you was made up o f strength, action, endurance and perseverance, and this I w ill cherish in my heart forever. I thank God fo r sending you to me, myfam ily andfriends, because you expressedhumbleness, patience, and was a man o f strongfaith.
Life was a long lesson o fhumility. God woke you up that you had something to do which had to be done, whether you liked it or not. It was because o f your sweet-spirit andfirm self-control through Him, because your strength came from Him according to His w ill to be humble and content.
R ichard I know that God's mercies are like two buckets in a well, while one ascends, the other descends according to His plan. So rest in peace and I love you dearly.
