Obituary
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4.7-8.
After seventy-three years of an active life on October 6, 2001 Mrs. Geneva B. Norman, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a friend passed from this life into eternal life. She was born September 8, 1928 to the late Mr. John T. Benson and the late Allene Sutton Benson in Wilkes County, Georgia.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She joined The New Ford Baptist Church. In 1972, she was born again in Christ and joined The Solomon Pool Holiness Church. She was a member of The True Fellowship Pentecost Church and fellowshipped with The New Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a Missionary, member of The Prayer Band and a Mother of the church.
She was married to the late Phil Norman, Sr. To this union, five children were born. She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories three sons, Phil Norman Jr., Melvin (Sandra) Norman and Barry Norman, Sr.; two daughters, Peggy (Fred) Wells and Dorothy Ann Norman all of Lincolnton, GA; one brother, Mr. John B. Benson of Knoxville, Term.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth (Earl) Sims of Danburg, GA, Ms. Matlene Benson and Mrs. Ethel Cullars of Washington, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frances Benson of Green wood, SC., and Mrs. Marion Benson of Tignall, GA., two brothers-in-law, Mr. Robert Lee (Alberta) Norman of Thomson, GA and Mr. Robert Partlow of Lincolnton, GA; eleven grand children, Robert, Lettrice, Pernell, Phyllis, Barry B., Phil III, Marco, Quincy, Christopher, Melody and Chelsea; a host of other relatives and spiritual friends: (Mythis Harrison, Eunice Sapp, Lucy Norman and Mae Lou Tate).
