Reflections of a Christian Lady
On Tuesday, evening February 2, 2010 Natalie (Auntie) joined her parents, siblings and other relatives andfriends as she took herflight home. Her voice and laughter has been removed. Her last story has been told. We are now left with her legacy and challenge to continue in herfootsteps.
She was a graduate o f Haines Normal and Industrial Institute, Augusta, Georgia and she also attended Paine College in Augusta, Georgia.
At an early age she confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized as Thankful Baptist Church under The pastorate o f Rev. A. G. Davis in 1928. Natalie loved God, her church and herfamily.
Highlights o f her service at Thankful included: Singing with The Senior Choir, where she served for 50 plus years.
Highlights o f Service to God: Sunday School Teacher; Bible School Teacher Joined Junior Choir; Red Robe Choir (Young Adults) Senior Choir (Secretary 1981 - 2005) Secretary - Thankful Baptist Church Senior Citizens Group Served on Publicity Committeefor Annual Church Anniversary Booklet Actively involved in numerous church activities
She will long be remembered by a loving and devoted daughter, Jerrlyn (William "Bill") Gaghum, Conway, SC; Lourdes Neely Coleman, Reginald A. Neely, Sr. & F. Derrick Neely, Sr. whom She reared as their mother after the passing o f their biological mother, she also kept a watchful eye over their offsprings, Reginald, Jr., Derrick Jr., Derron and Dena, devoted nieces, Brenda Neely, Gayle Neely and Marilyn Neely. Also remembering Auntie are other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and caringfriends.
