MR. W ILLIAM JA B -O MOSS, 80, entered into a peaceful rest on February 21, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Moss was the last surviving sibling ol eight children.
William, a native ol Aiken County, South Carolina, was born September 21, 1929 to the late Jim and Daisy Moss. William accepted Christ at a young age and became a member ol S p ringlield Baptist Church. He was a loving and fun person who had a zest for life.
In 1950, he met and married W illie Mae Anderson. To this union, three children were born. His son, William Moss, II, preceded him in death. They enjoyed sixty-five years together as one.
Mr. Moss joined and served in the United States Army at the age of twenty-one, where he fought on the Front Line Infantry in the Korean War.Additionally, heretiredfromSertaMattress Company as a Machine Worker after twenty-five years of devoted service. After retiring from the work force, his passion included spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and doing the Lord s work. His grands and great grandchildren were the light of his life.
He is survived by: his loving wife, W illie Mae Moss; children, Gwendolyn Ivory Moss and Ruby Manning, both of Augusta, GA; one son-in-law, Gregory Manning; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Moss and Marion Ross, both of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren, Zara (George) Williams, Austin, TX, Takiyah (Kevin) Barnes, N. Augusta, SC, Shekevia Manning, Atlanta, G A Frank Howard, Jr., Chevelle Alberty and Alethia Howard, all from Augusta, GA; seven great grandchildren, George Williams, IV, Monet Williams, Arianna Curry, Sarah Alberty, Kaden Barnes, William Jackson and Katrina Alberty; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
