OBITUARY
IN LOVING MEMORY
Wanda Jesse Moss, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Brown, was bom December 18, 1933 in Abbeville, South Carolina and departed this life on May 13,1993 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland.
She was educated in the public schools of Abbeville and Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. Wanda was united in marriage to Alfred A Moss, Sr. on June 29, 1957. From this union four children were born, two daughters, Andrea and Anna and two sons, Alfred, Jr. and Arnold Moss.
She came to Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Olive Church of God Holiness in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. She moved to Washington, D.C. as a young adult and transferred her membership to Bethlehem Church of God Holiness. She was a past member of the Mass Choir, she was one of the church seamstresses, served on the culinary committee and any capacity as needed.
Wanda was the first Black saleswoman at the Cotton Shop of Georgetown, employed with Raleigh Department store for 21 years, and managed La Straga Boutique. After working for twenty-five years, Wanda decided to open her own business as a professional seamstress. As a professional seamstress, she became known to the Metropolitan Fashion Industry as Lady Wanda. Sports, cooking, entertaining, fashion consulting and designing were some of her favorite activities.
She is survived by a loving husband, Alfred Moss, Sr.; two daughters, Andrea Moss-Hamilton and Anna Moss-Morrison of Clinton, Md.; two sons, Alfred Moss, Jr. of Clinton, Md, and Arnold Moss of Forestville, Md.; six grandchildren; three brothers, John A Brown, Landover, Md. Willie E. Brown, Hyattsville, Md. and Foster Brown, Landover, Md.; one daughterin-law, Doris Moss and one son in law, Mark Morrison. Sisters-in-law, Doreen Brown, Bertha Brown, Alavan White, Vivian Adams, Eleanor Moss, Sarah Moss, Betty Moss, Amelia Moss, Frenchston Moss. Brothers-in-law, Marshall Moss, Patrick Moss, Franklin Moss, Cart Moss and Donald Moss; Five aunts, Anna late, Mozelle Smith, Essie late, Sadie Gray, and BessieTtllman and two uncles, Ollie Alien and Willie Brown; best friend, Isabella Prattier, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ive served my time and now Im home. For theres no more suffering, heart aches or pain,
for where I am it doesn t even rain. So go on and be happy for me because it was my time.
So please dont worry because Ill see you again, until that time remember I love you, too.

My mother was an angel upon the earth. She was a minister of blessing to all human beings within her sphere of action... She had no feelings but of kindness and beneficence, yet her mind was as firm as her temper but yet gentle. Wanda had known sorrow, but her sorrow was silentShe had been thirty-six years the delight of my fathers heart. If there is existence and retribution beyond the grave, my mother is happy. But if virtue alone is happiness below, never was existence upon the earth more blessed than hers.
