To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be bom, and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. Ecc.
Mrs. Ruby Mae Williams Mosley was born February 19, 1925 in Kathwood, South Carolina. On Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 4:10 A.M. she reached out and grasped her Master's hand at University Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Ruby was the daughter of the late Mary Lee Morse and Marion L. Williams who as a Christian guided her in the way she should go. She was reared by her father and her grandmother Mrs. Katie Williams. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia receiving her education at Haines Industrial Institute and was employed for many years as a housekeeper for various families.
Ruby was baptized at Silver Bluff Baptist Church in 1935 at the age of ten under the pastorage of the late Rev. A.W. Vincent. She worked in the church in various areas and continued to serve the Lord at the church until her health failed at which time she praised Him at home. She served on the Usher board but her passion was singing soprano on the senior choir. She was a member of the Beautification Club, the Senior Mission and Chairman of the food committee for over 20 years being known as the "Macaroni and Cheese Lady". Ruby made herself available wherever she was needed.
Ruby was united in wedlock in 1946 to the late Hudnel Gentry Mosley and to this union 8 children were born. Mr. Mosley, their youngest son Rudell, and their oldest daughter Virginia preceded her in death.
Ruby was a daughter, sister, niece, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was loved and respected by many and never a stranger did she meet, for many children called her "Grandma".
