A Celebration of Life
A time to be born...
On June 19, 1932 in Columbia County, Georgia the daughter of the late Martha and Eugene Lewis was born and named Ella Lewis.
A Time to learn, live and love...
Ella received her education from the public schools system in Richmond County, Georgia graduating from Lucy C. Laney High School, Class of 1951. She later attended Paine College. In 1962, she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from University Hospital. After graduation, she was employed at Talmadge Hospital and later joined the Richmond County Board of Education as a School Nurse working with the faculty, staff and student at Sand Bar Ferry/East Augusta Middle School. After her retirement in 1993, she worked at several local nursing facilities. A Heart of Gold and a Will of iron speak of her strength. Ella was an honest person and a foot soldier for her family. She was a hard worker but never overlooked her family, providing a modest life for them. She was a caring and loving wife and mother. Later, this same love and attention was given to her grand and great-grandchildren, teaching the necessities of life. Everyone who got to know her loved her.
A time to serve...
Ella loved the Lord. At an early age, she joined the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Harlem, Georgia where she was a dedicated servant.
A time to die...
On Saturday, December 25, 2004, Ella made the transition from life into the presence of God's domain. She leaves memories that will be forever cherished in the hearts of her loved ones, her loving daughter, Brenda A. Singleton; three devoted sons, Walter E. Lewis, Michael D. Singleton and David K. Singleton; two sisters, Corrine Bennett and Sarah Grant; two brothers, Russell (Willie) Jones and Lester Lewis; ten grandchildren, Walter (Lanisha) Singleton, Jr., Teesha Bailey, Ron Frazier, Jaunthiny Conley, Tori Jones, Dwayne Singleton, Damian Singleton, LaToya Singleton, Brandi Singleton and Ashley Singleton; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Dean, Tyniquwa Singleton, Simeko Singleton, Jaron Frazier, Brendan "Bud" Scott, Tiffani Singleton, Ashton Jenkins, Talaya Singleton and Bre'Anna Glover; two God-daughters, Alma Ramsey and Kimberly Sullivan; in-laws, Melvin (Margaret) Mosby, Oliver (Laverne) Mosby, Evan Mosby and Annie Pearl Mosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and special friends.

M U LAST. RQUSZ
Please don't say that I gave up, just say that I gave in.
Don't say I lost the battle, for it was God's war to lose or win. Please don't say how good I was,
but that I did my best. Just say I tried to do what's right, to give the most I could, not to do less. Please don't give me wings or halos,
that's for God to do. I want no more than I desire,
no extras, just my due. Please don't give me flowers or
talk in harsh tones. Don't be concerned about me now,
I'm well with God; I've made it home. Don't talk about what could have been, it's over and it's done. Just see to all my family's needs, the battle has been won. When you draw a picture of me, don't draw me as a saint, I've done some good, I've done some wrong, so use all your paint. Not just the bright and light tones, use some gray and dark. In fact, don't put me down on canvas, paint me in your heart. Don't just remember all the good times, but remember all the bad. For life is full of many things, some happy and some sad. But if you must do something, then I have one last request. Forgive me for the wrong's I've done and with the love that's left, Thank God for my soul's resting, Thank God for all who loved me, Praise God who loved me best.

A Letter To Our Mother!!
We were Blessed with your presence each day. We'll miss you dearly, but God made a way. You stayed here with us through thick and thin. Always there, you were that special friend.
Then as we faced those final days. You were the one who said, "It'll all be okay."
Though we will miss your loving smile, We know you're watching us from that other side.
For all the gifts we had hoped to bring, That perfect gift we couldn't buy.
But you did receive it from our Father on High.
Merry Christmas Mom!!
To Our Grandmother!!
When we think of Grandma We think of love and caring and what better one could we have.
Caring was in her blood and love was in her heart. A smile that could warm the coldest heart And a laugh that gave sure comfort. Strong when she was needed And a soul made of precious gold
To wrap these feeling and emotions in one word We would say
Ella Lewis Singleton Mosby We love You!!! With all our love,
Your Grandchildren
