Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones, Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am not at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade? Oh! But Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me, in the way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth's shadows, pray to trust of Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth--you shall rest in Jesus' land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home: Oh, the rapture of that meeting, oh, the joy to see you come!

Obituary
Elizabeth Dent Monroe was born in Appling, Georgia, on July 28, 1919, to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hankerson Dent. The shining star that she was, Elizabeth was blessed with a wit and a sense of humor that captured an audience in whatever circle she travelled. She had love and affection for all, and she shared whatever she could unselfishly.
"Libby" as she was affectionately known, attended school in Appling and Augusta, Georgia, and she was employed by Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in the labor and delivery department for thirty-five years. Elizabeth was united in holy matrimony to Deacon William E. Monroe and to this union one daughter was born.
Left to cherish her memories are a loving and devoted daughter, Sheryl L. Monroe Jones; four god children: Tyrone Walker, Novellaine P. Stancil, Phinizy (Junebug) Redfield, all of Augusta, Georgia; Carleen Kennedy Wright of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
