** OBITUARY **
Keith Mitchem was born September 22,1927, in Edgefield County, South Carolina, to the late M r. Emery M itchem and the late Mrs. Lela Mitchem and was reared by the late Deacon Geat Sullivan after their death.
He was baptized at an early age in to the Old Piney Grove Baptist Church of Clarks Hill, South Carolina. Baptism was only a start for Keith, because he became very active in his works for the Lord. He became a Deacon and a Senior Choir member. He thoroughly devoted much o f his time in trying to b e tte r the church both financially as w ell as mutual grow th and development. U ntil his departure on M ay 9, 1990 his main objectives were to see peace, love and harmony flourish in the church. His works were not only deligent in the church but also w ith his family. He loved his family w ith all his heart and wanted all o f them to be comfortable and happy as the Lord will have it. His works and love speaks for itself through the hearts and minds of all those that were fortunate enough to have known him. His love and memory will live on forever and forever.
He leaves to mourn in his passing, a loving and very devoted wife of 40 years, M r. Ada Mitchem; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys M. W eaver, N orth Augusta, S.C. and Ms. Belinda S. M itchem, Edgefield, S.C.; three sons, M r. Davis L. M itchem and Mr. John W . M itchem both of Edgefield, S.C. and Mr. Emery L. M itchem o f Ellicott City, Md.; nine grandchildren, Trey, Tonda, Taka, Shanque, Chris, Travis, Timothy, Jessica and Chris H.; three daughters-in-law, Shirley, Naomi and Angela; one son-in-law, Richard; three sisters, Alice Johnson of N orth Augusta, S.C., Gladys Mitchem and Minnie M. McKie both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Ola Johnson; devoted aunt, Annie Sullivan; three devoted adopted brothers, Mr. Otis Sullivan, M r. Geat Sullivan and M atthew Sullivan; six devoted adopted sisters, Mrs. M attie Collier, Nannie Lee Smith, Blanche Pitts, Lillie M. Jones, Irvin Knight and Emma Lee McAdams; a devoted goddaughter, Leslie Hillary; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law , a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
