MS. ELAINE D. MILES was b o m on October 11, 1955 in Reading, Pennsylvania. On September 20, 2012 God decided her amazing work on this earth was done, and He called her home.
Elaine leaves behind: an aunt, Anna M. Colem an o f Bronx, NY; two brothers, G eoffrey Lee Butler and Kenneth Earl Butler o f Reading, PA; son, Evan (L u cy) Butler-Sands; daughter, Neysa Miles-Walker; two granddaughters, Destiny Elaine-Nicole and Sara Miles; cousins/sisters-in-love, W endy Butler, A ngela DuBoise and Karen Butler; nephews, Lee Butler, Marquise Walton and An th on y DuBoise II; aunts-inlove, Genell Graham and Margaret Hightower; best friends, Robin Stocks o f Midlothian, VA, M arie Andrews and M ichele Mitchell; her Graniteville Family, VA Family and countless relatives and friends who she cared for, helped grow and looked after.
Elaine served her country proudly for over thirty-five years, both as active duty m ilitary and as a dedicated social w orker who specialized in care for veterans. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Augusta State University and her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University o f South Carolina. She served various positions at the VA Medical Center, including Healthcare for Hom eless Veterans Coordinator, and had recently worked overseas for the Departm ent o f Defense as Fam ily Advocacy Program Manager for A rm y Community Services.
Elaine m eant so much to many, m any people. She spent her life giving everything she had to enrich the lives o f those she came in contact with. She was the rock o f her family, a caring, lovin g friend, and a jo y to all who got to know her. Th e Bible says w e have been saved and set aside for a special purpose, w e are God's prized tool.

YOUR PURPOSE HAS BEEN FULFILLED ELAINE. I T IS WELL W ITH YOUR SOUL.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter; the song. The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again.
