** OBITUARY **

1921

1990

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain."
REVELATION 21:4

Genevieve A. Meyers died at the University Hospital on Wednesday, August 22, 1990.

She became a Christian when she was a very young girl and began her work in Christs Kingdom at the Bethel A.M.E. Church and has been a faithful and ardent worker for many years.

She was especially loyal to the work of the Deaconess Board, the Missionary Society, Stewardess Board Number Two, James Singleton Sunday School Class, the Hannah-Stephens Choir, and the Conference Branch Missionary Society, never refusing a task because she was already too busy, or because she was too tired.

Today we are silent, to pay tribute to a person who has lived among us as "one who went about doing good" and who always put Christ first in everything she did.

Genevieve was a lovable character, a person everyone chose to have as a friend and willing to be a friend to all. She never pushed herself forward, but always stayed in the background working and praying and doing whatever she was called upon to do for her Master.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a sister, Emma Elizabeth Seay, Augusta, Georgia and an extended family of friends.

Love is much more than a tender caress

And more than bright hours of gayhappiness,

For a lasting love is made up of sharing

Both hours that are "joyous" and also "despairing" ...

Its made up of patience and deep understanding

And never of selfish and stubborn demanding.

Its made up of "CLIMBING THE STEEP HILLS TOGETHER"

And facing with courage "LIFES STORMIEST WEATHER"

And nothing on earth or in heaven can part

A love that has grown to be part of the heart,

r

And just like the sun and the stars and the sea,

The love will go on through ETERNITY

For "true love" lives on when earthly things die,

For its part of the SPIRIT that soars to the "SKY."
