Mr. Walter L. McDonald was born March 9, 1917 in Hertford, N. C,,, the devoted son of the late John and Ernestine McDonald. He departed th is life May 30, 1980.
He devoted his professional life to educating young people in the C olquitt County and the B le c k le y County School systems. He served as principal of Thompson Street School, Cochran, from 1960-1970. He also worked at B o y ' s V illa g e in Maryland.
He was a faithful member of Turner Chapel A.M .E. Church where he was a steward and a trustee and worked very faithfully until his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted w ife, Mrs. Mattie McDonald; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Collier; two grandchildren, Arthur and Carolyn Ashley C ollier; four brothers, M ilton, Thomas, John and L e w is McDonald; two sisters, Mrs. Ina Mays and Mrs. Ellen Edwards; a God daughter, Ti Shandra Roberson; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
