OBITUARY
Mrs. Emma Lou Sutton McClendon was born in Griffin, Georgia on August 10, 1908, the daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Sutton. She enrolled at the Academy for the Blind in 1925 and graduated in 1940. In 1941 she began her teaching career. She received many plaques and awards; she retired in 1971 after teaching for 30 years.
She was a member of Fountain Temple A.M.E. Church and she was also affiliated with the Ga. Academy for the Blind Alumni Chapter.
She leaves to mourn, a husband, Mr. George McClendon, god-daughter, Mrs. Mary Richardson Cox of Atlanta, god-son, Adrion Richardson, aunt - Mrs. Maggie Perkins of Atlanta; uncle - Wilson Holloway of Detroit, cousins - Mr. Edward and Paul Perkins, of Atlanta, a host of relatives and friends.
Three devoted friends: Panky Wilder of Macon, Ga., Rosa Johnson of Augusta, Ga. and Barbara Stevens of Macon.
