A Tribute
W hat better could there be to say When shades o f night appear,
Than that the day has been well Spent in service far and near; That even in the little things I 've done my very best.
W hat more could consolate me as I lay down to rest?
W hat sweeter could there be to know When wings o f fleeting time H ave folded all about me A n d I seek a higher clime,
Than through what even little deed I 've done from day to day,
That I have helped my brother A s I passed along this way, W hat more in heaven's glorious realm Could bring my soul delight Than ju st to know its endless joys W ithout the shade o f night, A n d midst the everlasting praise
A s angel voices swell To hear my Saviour sweetly say, "Be calm my child, `tis well?"
