On April 12, 1995, Mr. Lonnie F. Maddox of 4146 Elberton Hwy. departed this life and entered into a world of eternal rest.
Mr. Lonnie F. Maddox was born on March 14, 1938, in Lincolnton, Ga. He was employed by Henderson Logging for 25 years.
Survivors include a wife, Mrs. Charlie Mae Maddox; ten daughters, Marcella, Gloria, and Lajuana of Lincolnton, Ga., Betty Jean Andrews of Washington, Ga., Brenda Norman and Diane Raiford of Lincolnton, Ga., Matrice Maddox of Washington, Ga., Cathy Blackwell of New York, Pam Stalks of Florida and Lajuana Partlow; four sons, Lonnie F., Jeffery, and Clifton Maddox of Lincolnton, Ga., and Harold Blackwell of New York; one step-daughter, Dewitt A. Parks of Athens, Ga.; one stepson, Johnnie Andrews of Tignall, Ga.; mother-in-law, Cora W. Andrews of Tignall, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Maddox; one son-in-law, Wallace Norman; one step son-in-law, Neal Parks; three sisters, Willie Mae Jones and Jessie Mae Parks of Lincolnton, Ga., and Bertha Helen Ellis of New York; nine sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law, 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson, LaTrana Garnett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb, He gently closed his loving eyes And whispered, "Peace Be Thine. "
His weary fingers, his days of pain, His weary nights are passed; His ever-patient, worn out frame Has found sweet rest at last.
