Mr. Tate Maddox, Jr., of Route 4, Box 173, Lincolnton, Ga., departed this life January 9, 1981, in an automobile accident.
He was born April 21, 1930, in Lincoln County, Georgia. Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Maddox, Lincolnton, Ga.; one daughter, Miss Mary Helen Maddox, Lincolnton, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Jerry Dye and Mr. Roy Dye, Lexington, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Jones and Mrs. Jessie Mae Parks, Lincolnton, Ga., Mrs. Bertha Helen Ellis, New York, N.Y.; four brothers, Mr. Lonnie Frank Maddox, Mr. Thomas Maddox, Lincolnton, Ga., Mr. Arron Maddox and Mr. Roy Maddox, Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, two aunts, one uncle, several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb; He gently closed his loving eyes And whispered, "Peace Be Thine." His weary fingers, his days of pain, His weary nights are passed; His every patient, worn out frame Has found sweet rest at last.
