Mr. Henry Mackie, a native of Augusta, Georgia was born March 5, 1928 to Mrs. Minnie Lee Mackie and the late Mr. Henry Mackie, Sr. He passed into eternal rest August 1, 1987.
He attended Steed Elementary School in Richmond County until he lost his eye sight at eight years of age.
He leaves to cherish his m em ory a loving mother, Mrs. Minnie Mackie; five sisters, Mrs. Rosa Butler, Mrs. Mattie B. Key, Miss Henrietta Mackie, and Mrs. Annie M. Nickerson, all o f Augusta and Mrs. Ola M. Walker, Bronx, New York; two brothers, Mr. Booker T. Mackie, bronx New York and Mr. Roosevelt Mackie, Augusta; five neices, Mrs. Freddean Givens, Miami, Florida, Mrs. BettvJ. Griffin and Miss Veleta A. Nickerson, both of Augusta, Miss Barbara W alker, Bronx, New York and Miss Delores W alker, Monterey, California; one nephew, Mr. Kevin Walker, Albuquerque, New Mexico; three great neices, three great nephews, other relatives and friends.
A very special person who could see w ithout sight, Because he had a heart that was right.
Protected from this old evil world by god's wonderful grace, He gave us the love we will cherish from day to day.
You were ever so quiet and humble, N ever a word o f grumble, The memories of you will never be replaced,
And when God calls us home once again we will see your face. Although today the tears will fall,
