Henry Lurk
Henry Lurk, 55, ofPhiladelphia, PA., son ofthe late Sammie and Betty Bryant Lurk was bom in Saluda County, South Carolina, on September 6,1953. In addition to his parents, a brother, Robert Lurk also preceded him death. He departed this life on Monday, April 27,2009, in the VA Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.
He received his education in the public schools o f Saluda County, South Carolina and he graduated from Saluda High School in 1971. After he finished school, he j oined the United States Army.
At an early age, hejoined the Rock Hill Baptist Church. Later in life, he was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness, on June 6,1998 and he pioneered from 1998 to 2000. He was a member o f West Mount Airy Congregation in Philadelphia, PA.
He was a painter most ofhis life. He was affectionately called, "Good Buddy" he was a talented person and full of life and he loved to sing.
He is survived by; his wife, Carolyn G. Lurk, Philadelphia, Pa (who is very ill and unable toattend); daughter, Phoebe Norris, Greenwood, SC; son, Minto Long, Frederickburg, VA; three sisters, Sarah Graham and Barbara Jean Lurk both o f Saluda, SC and Betty Jean Miles, Greenwood, SC; three brothers, Sammie Lurk, Jr. Patterson, NJ, James (Essie) Lurk, Greenwood, SC and Albert Lurk, Saluda, SC; six grandchildren; one aunt, Catherine Mobley, Philadel phia, PA; great aunt, Clara Williams, Saluda, SC and Great uncle, Charlie S. Daniels, Saluda, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other rela tives, extended family and sorrowing friends.

We, the family of the late HENRY LURK are most appreceiative for all acts of love, deeds of thoughtful ness and words sympathy expressed, implied or dem onstrated during our hour of bereavement. We say thank you and your kind deeds will always be remembered.
