"The sun rose on February 26, 1953 and set on March 3, 2006"
This is the celebration of Willies life and homegoing. At an early age, he was united with Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Willie was a strong-willed and determined man who Embraced life and lived it to the fullest. He loved people. For him, there were no strangers, only friends that he had not met yet.
During a lengthy illness, he displayed only courage, determination and a strong desire to live.
On March 3, 2006, the battle was over, victory was won and Willie Was welcomed home with open arms.
He leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his memory. Among those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Temeshia Luke and Kristen Luke; one son, Terrance "Bo" Luke. He also leaves four sisters, Eva Marshall, Carrie Garnett, Dorothy (George) McCladdie and his twin, Wilhemenia (Robert) Freeman; two brothers, Horace Luke and Scott (Annette) Rickerson; five grandchildren, Kiera Collins, Kambria Collins, Kianna Collins, Shawndrel Horton and Jaylon Devone Luke; a step mother, America Luke; two aunts, Ozella Tate and Emily Luke; one uncle, Leonard Garnett; a special and devoted niece, Mary Ann Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
