"I Am Purposed" By: Alda (AKA: Baby Carroll) Midgette Ephesians 1:11 "In Christ we too have been claimed as God's own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of Him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of His will."

OBITUARY
Mrs. Henri' Alda Mae Douglas Lott was called to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born January 13, 1925, in Sumpter, S.C. to Grace D. Lilly. She was the widow of the late Deacon Robert Lott, Augusta, GA. Alda attended Durham County Schools and graduated from Hillside High School, Dur ham, North Carolina*
At an early age she accepted the Lord into her heart as a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Red Springs, North Carolina. Her father passed away in her early childhood, and was raised in Red Springs, North Carolina by her mother Grace Lilly and aunt, Mary D. Townsend. In her teenage years she lived with her mother and step-father, Fred Lilly and became a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Durham, North Carolina under the leadership of Rev. Dr. E.T. Brown. As an adult, Alda Lott later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Augusta, GA where she served as the Director for Wiley Drayton Day care, Usher Board, Senior Choir Member, and Overseer of Children's Church. She was devoted to attending Bible Study and Sunday School. Her life was well represented by Tier faith, love, and loyalty in the Lord Je sus Christ. The beautiful aspect about her devotion to the Word of God is that she made sure that her chil dren and grandchildren were studying the Word as well. After serving as Director for Wiley Drayton Day care for numerous years, she decided to launch her own daycare entitled: "Shonalda's" a name that was in spired by her two oldest granddaughter's, Yushonda (Shon) and Alda, in the mid 80's. Alda Lott possessed a beautiful spirit and warming smile to all that knew her. She loved her family and her church family.
Holidays were always the best times of the year for Alda/MaMa and her family, because she brought excite ment into the atmosphere. She was very family oriented, and an "AWESOME" cook, seamstress/designer, counselor, foster parent, and mother to all. She would decorate with love to make the occasions special, along with her succulent desserts that would make your mouth water. Her house always smelled like a fresh butter pound cake. Alda was employed with Burke County Schools and Richmond County Schools, Augusta, GA (Charles T. Walker) as a Certified School teacher. She entered into college at Shaw University, Raleigh, NC at the age of 16 years old, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Alda later returned to school and gradu ated Magna Cumlaude with her Master's of Arts degree in English formerly North Carolina College, now North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina. On numerous occasions Alda received "Teacher of the Year" award in Keysville, GA, and for Richmond County Schools. She was loved by her faculty, staff, and students as she faithfully served and retired as a School Teacher of 33 years.
Amongst her accomplishments, Alda was a member of Alpha Pi Chi Sorority. With her passion for young women to succeed in their purpose and calling, she was asked by Rosa T. Beard (deceased), founder of the Augusta Adult Society, to assist in the position of Co-Founder. Alda proudly accepted the position and worked closely with Rosa T. Beard and the debutantes in developing young women's character, morals, and principles. Alda designed the Debutante Emblem, and was also recognized each year at the Broad Street Christmas Parade, Augusta, GA for designing the `Best Float', which was the Debutante Float. Alda coined herself as the "Jack Of All Trades".
Alda Lott was the sister to the late Thurmond Lilly of Durham, NC; two daughters Ruth A. Hailey, Augusta, GA and Sandra E. Midgette (Alvin) of Fayetteville, NC; adopted daughter and caregiver Ida Tutt, Augusta, GA; Three step daughters, Roberta Long, Alaska, Brenda J.Whites, AZ, and Two Sisters-in-law, One botherin-law; five grandchildren: Phelix D.
