OBITUARY
Eleanor Simpkins Lloyd, daughter of Mrs. Corina Copeland, was born on March 3, 1929 in Saluda, South Carolina. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 29, 1984, after a brief illness.
Her early life was spent in Saluda where she attended and graduated from Saluda High School.
She served as a W. A. C. in the United States Army, where she met and was joined in matrimony with James W. Lloyd. From this union two children were born.
She attended Augusta Business College, where she received a business degree. While living in Augusta, she was a member of Thankful Baptist Church and served in various capacities of the church.
She moved to Durham, where she was employed by E.P.A. Also, joining the Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Pastor's Aid Club, the Youth Move ment, the Progressive Club and was a Sunday School Teacher She worked as a volunteer for Hospice and the National Can cer Society.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband James W. Lloyd, one daughter of the home, Deborah V. Lloyd, one son Mark A. Lloyd of Chapel Hill, N. C. Her mother Mrs. Corine Copeland, three brothers, Mr. Harold Copeland, of Saluda, S. C., Mr. Johnny Copeland of Saluda, S. C., Mr. Jimmy Simpkins of Newberry, S. C., one sister Miss Mary Jean Simpkins of Saluda, S. C., two sisters-in-law, Mami Copeland, Mildred Simpkins, her devoted friend Pearl Jackson, a host of other relatives and friends.
GOD GAVE THE WORLD STARS. AND THERE WAS BEAUTY GOD GAVE THE WORLD SUN--AND THERE WAS WARMTH GOD GAVE THE WORLD RAIN--AND THERE WAS LIFE GOD GAVE THIS MOTHER AND THER WAS LOVE.
