A collection ofmagnetsfrom numerous cities, states and points of interest she visited, just hinted at the scope ofherjourneys. She traveled to both Hawaii and Alaska in addition to trips to several Caribbean islands and Canada. While she treasured memories ofeach ofher destinations, the passionfruitjuice that shefirst tasted in Hawaii remained herfavorite discovery. Her love oftravel thrived until severefoot problems curtailed her desire to visit Tahiti.
Her devotion to learning, teaching and helping others pursue their educational goals were her trademarks. Thisformer sth grade teachers reverencefor education flourished during her years at Paine Collegefrom which she graduated in 1936. She remained a lifelong supporter ofher alma mater. Decades after her early retirementfrom teaching at Craig Elementary School, she is stillfondly remembered by her students and their children as well.
Her talent and popularity as an educator were undoubtedly enhanced by her sense ofhumor. Everyone was an equal targetfor the teasing and warm smile bestowed upon them by this audacious woman. Even unsuspecting doctors and her church reverends became easy targetsfor her quick wit and sense offun. Children, whom she dearly loved, always gravitated to her knowing that she was a kindred spirit who related to them and their world.
She was loyal member ofBethel AME Church. Spiritually, her strongfaith that God was always by her side guided her through both good and troubled times. Thisfaith enabled her to enjoy and live a lifefilled with thankfulnessfor each day. She loved the Serenity Prayer and believed that God would never give her more than she could handle. We will all miss Aunt Naomi.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thyfoot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will
not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right
hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve theefrom all evil: he shall preserve thy
soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming infrom
this timeforth, and even forevermore.
Psalm 121
