Obituary
Mr. Robert L. Lawson, Sr., son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin (Georgia) Lawson, was born on January 25, 1918 in Burke County. At an early age he was baptized at Bottsford Spring Baptist Church.
On October 11, 1939, God blessed Mr. R. L. Lawson!, Sr. in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Maggie Tanksley Lawson. During their union, the Lawson family relocated to Augusta, Georgia and moved their membership to Beulah Grove Baptist Church. Also, in their union 13 children were bom. Three children preceded iim in death, Eric, Mark, and Diane.
After 41 years of service, Mr. Robert L. Lawson, Sr. retired from Babcock & Wilcox. However, he continued devoting himself by volunteering at the CSRA EOA, Inc. from 1984 until 2003.
Throughout his life, he was always a steadfast servant of God and served faithfully at Beulah Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors are seven sons, Robert (Doris) Lawson, Jr., Union, SC, Charles E. (Mary) Lawson, Sr., John (Annie Bell) Lawson, Sr, Roy (Euriadean) Lawson, Sr., Marion (Laura) Lawson, Henry Mack Lawson, and Ray (Patricia) Lawson, all of Augusta; three daughters, Annie (Wade, Sr.) Carthen, Jeanette (Jerry, Sr.) Harper, Cathy (Marion, Sr.) Beasley; two sisters, Bessie Tanksley, Freddie Mae Lawson, all of Augusta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Sadie Lawson, Everlean Benefield of all Augusta, GA; one godson Micheal Holt of Germany; thirty-two grandchildren; eighty-three great-grandchildren; forty-six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and numerous friends and church family.
