CROSSING THE BAR
Sunset and evening star, A n d one clear call for me! A n d may there be no moaning o f the bar,
W hen I pu t out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems alseep, Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home.
T w ilight and evening bell! A n d after that the dark! A n d may there be no sadness o f farewell,
W hen I embark; For tho' from out our bourne o f Time and Place
The flood m ay bear me far, I hope to see m y Pilot face to face
W hen I have crossed the bar. Alfred Tennyson
