OSituary
Mrs* Thelma Lamar, of Augusta, Georgia, made her tram

Mrs. Lamar was educated at the historic Haines Insti tute under the direction of Mrs. Lucy Craft Laney. She was committed to developing Christian-centered ethics for her family and community. As a pianist for the Baptist Training Union and the Senior Choir and a Sunday School Teacher, many young people learned from her what "service to Christ" really means.

O/ten into folly straying, O , my mother! How I 've grieved her! Often I 've heard her praying for me,
Till the gushing tears relieved her; And she gently rose and smiled, Whispering, "G od will keep my child."
She was youthful then, and sprightly, Fondly on my father leaning,
Sweet she spoke, her eyes shone brightly, Now, an autumn leaf decayed; I, perhaps, have ma - jade.
But, whatever ills betide thee, Mother, in them all 1 share; In thy sickness watch beside thee, And beside thee kneel in prayer. Best o f mothers! On my breast lean thy head.
And sink to rest. Anonymous
