Fred Eccleston Knuckles was born October 6, 1946, to the late Fred Leroy and Alice Gertrude (DOyley) Knuckles.
Fred lived in Greenville his entire life, having attended Sullivan Street School and Sterling High School. Upon graduation, he attended Xavier University, Voorhees College, and Alien University.
On October 25,1969, he married Leona Abercrombie, also a a native of Greenville, and they raised their daughter Angela Marie (Knuckles) Green.
Fred spent twenty-one years at Western Textile until it closed in 1998.
Loving memories of Fred will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Leona of thirty years; his daughter, Angela Marie Green; one sister, Sandra Knuckles Gibbs (Abe); two grandsons, Jamario and Andre Green; and a host of relatives and friends.
Fred maintained lifetime relationships with a host of friends that were devoted to him until he passed. He loved his friends very dearly and held them closely to his heart.
Fred had a wonderful and unique sense of humor which, were certain he has taken on home with him.

The family wishes to thank all the relatives and friends for your calls, visits, and other acts of kindness before and during the passing of our loved one. Please continue to keep us in your prayers for we know that Christ is the only true burden bearer.
We extend an extra special thanks to Andrew Abercrombie, Cleve Ann Mack, Odell Pugh, and John Mosely for their close support and unyielding attendance to Fred during his most critical times.
Please be advised that the Greenville County Sheriffs Department and the City of Greenville Police Department no longer provide escort services for funeral processions. Therefore oil drivers should obey traffic signals. Persons who are not riding in the funeral home limousines should meet the family at the cemetery.
