OBITUARY OF DEACON JOSEPH KING
Dea. Joseph King, the son of Moses King Sr. and the late Lena G iles, w a s b rrn in C o 'um b ia County, Evan s, G a . N ovem ber 11, 1911. He departed this fife Ja n . 13, 1972. In 1926 he w as converted and baptized at the Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, by the late Rev. S. A . Je n n in g s. He w a s m arrie d to Miss Rosa Lee Su llivan, November 11, 1934. To this Union one daughter w a s born. He w as a faithful mem ber of his church and g a ve g reat services to his church during his youthful years. He w a s o rd ained for a deacon about the ye a r 1940. At the time of his death he w as the chairm an of the deacon Board. He served his church w ell. Besides from his deacon duties he w as a member of the choir and the president of the Usher Board. He w a s a m em ber of Ju piter Lodge No. 517, M artinez, G a.
He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted w ife , Mrs. Rosa Lee King, one daughter, Miss M am ie Jo King, Father and Step Mother, Dea. & Mrs. Moses King Sr. three sisters, Mrs. M am ie G riffin , of M i l w a u k e e , W is. Mrs. Marion Brown, Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Cora Elim, of A u g u sta , G a. and Fannie Jo hnso n, Los Angeles, Calif., one Uncle, Dea. Aaron King, of Evans, G a., one Uncle-in law , Mr. Christopher Elim of Augusta, G a., eight brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, relatives and sorrowing friends.
