'T or m e to liv e in C hrist and to d ie is gain , "said the Apostle Paul. We know that this would me the message if our dear Sister Annie Mae Harris Key were able to give a message today from the portals of heaven where she has gone to be forever with the Lord.
She was born in Edgefield County, South Carolina on December 9, 1900 to the late George Harris and Cora East Harris.
At an early age, she was converted and joined the Carey Hill Baptist Church and later united with the Old Piney Grove Baptist Church. After moving to Philadelphia, she united with the Beulah Baptist Church where she served faithfully and long. So let us praise (Ood that she has, along with other tired laborers, found in God a place of rest.
In the year 1919, she was united in marriage to Robert Key, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union eleven children were born, with two sons and two daughters preceding her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are; three daughters, Irene Mobley, Philadelphia, Pa., Florine Worley, Jersey City, N.J. and Mattie B. McCain, North Augusta, S.C.; four sons, W illie Key,Jersey City, N.J., Charlie Key, North Augusta, S.C., Matthew Key and Alonzo Key, Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Bertha Gowdy, Augusta, Ga. and Ola Ware, Edgefield, S.C.; two brothers, Eddie Smith and George Harris, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; thirty-three grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, one sisterin-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
