"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under
Heaven." ECCLESIASTES 3:1
Brother Cobie Kelly was bom September 18, 1925 to Mr. Cobie
Kelly, Sr. and Mrs. Claudia Kelly. Brother Kelly was very energetic
and ambitious, gaining employment by the age of nine. He accepted
Christ and joined Caipentersville Baptist Church at an early age.
Brother Kelly proudly served in World War II, where he was injured in
the line of duty. Later in 1950, he met and four months later married
the woman of his dreams, Miss Mary Louise Hatney. Out of this
joyous union came two daughters, Portia and Deaeen. Brother Kelly
was a loving, family man, who went out of his way to do for his
family. He was also a good friend you could always count on.
Brother Kelly was employed at Triangle Publication in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania for twenty-seven years. Later, after returning to
Augusta, he worked and retired from the Richmond County Board of
Education.
He leaves to mourn his passing: a loving and devoted wife, Louise
Kelly; two daughters Miss Portia A. Kelly, Augusta, GA and Mrs.
Deneen Wade, Valdosta, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Jones,
Washington, DC and Ms. Addie Lee Kelly, Bronx, NY, two
grandsons, Michael Kelly, Augusta, GA and Julian Wade; one
son-in-law, Jerome Wade; one brother-in-law, Mr. John D. Hatney,
four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor Hatney, Mrs. Betty Tyler, Ms. Anna

Don't spend too much time mourning
Tears are for the sad.
I left to be with Jesus
And this should make you glad.
Don't waste your hours in grieving
No need to feel distress.
I'm tired of lifes frustrations
And had to get some rest.
Don't fret because of my leaving
Come in such a way
We'll have another meeting
In God's Eternal Day.
