MRS. TIA K. OWENS JORDAN was born in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky on March 6,1971 to Doris Abraham and Rufus Owens, Sr. On January 5, 2012, the Lord too her from her labor took her reward. She was married to the late Emanuel Jordan on October 30, 2010. No children were born to this marriage.
At an early age, Tia became a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Augusta, Georgia. She recently joined Canaan Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Thomson, Georgia.
Tia graduated from A. R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School of Augusta, Georgia and became a Registered Nurse after graduating Valdosta State University, where she received her BA of Nursing degree. She worked at University Health Care System and Maxim Healthcare Services of Augusta, Georgia.
Tia leaves to cherish her loving memory: her parents, Doris Abraham (Rev. Timothy H. Sr.) Gilmore; four sisters, Tonya Y. Owens, Timica D. Gilmore, Rhonda O. (Santonio) Dennis and Kesha Overstreet; seven brothers, Norris H. Gilmore, Timothy H. Gilmore, Jr., David Owens, Kevin Neal, Ronnie Overstreet, Thomas Overstreet and Bernard Freeman; aunts, Shirley (the late Bobby Ward), Maxine (Leroy Hubbert), Linda Williams, Georgia Lee Jones, Thomasina Owens, Jacqueline Whyatt, Barbara Jean Owens, Patricia A. Owens and Sylvia Abraham; uncles, Stanley (Carol) Abraham and Michael Owens; great uncles, Joe (Barbara) Owens, Robert Lee (Juanita) Owens, Eugene (Christine) Owens, Aurther (Irene) Abraham, Sr., Willie (Dorothy) Abraham and Johnny Abraham; great aunt, Betty Owens Dixon; nieces, Vernitta Lee, Tamika Owens and Francia Armstrong; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, the late Rufus Owens, Sr. and her brother, Rufus Owns, Jr.

These are the units to measure the worth Of a woman as a woman, regardless of birth. Not, what was her church, nor what was her creed? But had she befriended those really in need? Was she ever ready, with words o f good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when she passed away.
