The Life, & Legacy
f . IsabettLouise Jones-Murphy
February 7, 1900, God gave new life to my loving parents, Reverend Seabron and Rachel Walker Jones. As I grew, my parents instructed me and siblings with much love, patience and understand ing. .
Our first teachings were to know and love God with all our Hearts . . . which is why I joined the church, sang in the choir, served forty-five (45) years as chairman of the Deaconess Board and later received the Honor of becoming, "Mother of the Church." Then we were taught to pray without ceasing, for God would supply all our needs, and to pray for our fellowman with much gratitude and praise . . . which is why I became a Missionary Worker and a Sunday School Teacher.
My parents didnt stop there, for they also instilled in us to always seek Gods Grace and Mercy First in our lives, which allowed me to become the Founder of the First Daily Vacation Bible School here in Augusta, Georgia. After we were taught these things, we would then know how to have a Closer Walk with God through our daily lives... for He has blessed me to teach children in Burke County as well as in Richmond County ... as I was the Founder and Operator of the ABC Kindergarten.
It was this Closer Walk with God which brought me to see One Hundered and Two (102) years of my life ... It was also this Close Walk which brought John Mack Murphy as my spouse.
It was again this Close Walk which gave me three beautiful chil dren to be by my side: John (Mary) Murphy, Flint, Michigan, Leonidus (Willilee) Murphy, Durham, North Carolina and Addie (George) Tutt, of Augusta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Leonidus (Deloris) Murphy, Den ver, Colorado, Brian E. (Brigitte) Murphy and Casandra (Riley) Carter, all of Durham, North Carolina, George Tutt, II and Brian J. Tutt, both of Augusta, Georgia. And He didnt stop there, for as my Close Walk con tinued, He then blessed me with five great grandchildren, Gregory, Sophia, Madison, Jordan and Paul; and a godchild, Ophelia Y. Adams.
Surely you would want to know that I attended school at Haines Normal Institute, Walker Baptist Institute and the University of Georgia, but its not important what school I attended or what side of town I lived, or how much my clothes cost.. . Its not important that my parents didnt make much money or we didnt always have the best of food to eat... All that matters, is that we strived for that Closer Walk with God, which made my life so complete.
.; So, as Ive finished my Course on this side .. . May the Works Ive done, speak for me. "Qod be with you until we meet again . . . Ill see you on the other side ..."
