Obituary
John R. Johnson was horn June 3, 1910, to the late Nancy and Andrew Johnson. He was a native of Rayle, Georgia. He departed this life March 11, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanme Johnson.
John was a Deacon of Pleasant Grove and Water Branch Baptist Ghurches where he was a member of the F.H. Hall Choir, Deacon Board, Deacons Union, Gospel Choir and Club #5.
He retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon, Georgia after 34 years o f service. He received many citations for excellent w ork. He was a great Missionary that touched the lives o f many.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one sister, Mrs. Carrie Fanning, Athens, G A ; three nieces, Betty and Deborah Fanning, both of Ath ens, GA arid Dorthy (Sonny) Norman, Atlanta, GA; two neph ews, Jessie (Theresa) Willowby, Eatonton, GA and David Johnson, Atlanta, G A ; two grand-nieces, Crystal Bell and NeshantaJohnson, both of Athens, G A ; four grand-nephews, Brandon, Ryan, Justin and Nicholas Willowby, all o f Eatonton, G A ; one great-grand nephew, Master Joshua Henderson, Athens, G A ; two god-daugh ters, Trenia Germany, Harlem, GA and Faithy (Lawrence) Wren, T X ; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Precious Qift

Thank you God for the gift you've given me. A loving and faithful

intercessor who prayed for me daily. I thank you for the seeds that were

sown that grew with love beyond measure like I ve never known. You gave to me a family with a special connection to you that introduced me to the Holy Ghost and led me along a path that is chosen hy only a jew. A life full of suffering and strife is only a small price for the gift of eternal

life. Thank you for this man's prayers his sacrifice arid obedience too. Thank you God for salvation and most of all thank you God for being

you.
