OBITUARY
The strong tree stood in the midst of storms for three generations. It shed its leaves only to bear new leaves.
Its limbs were broken only to mend again. Its roots grew until there was no room to expand. So, life's trunk suffocated.
The life of Gertrude G. Johnson was synonymous to this tree's life.
She grew in her faith in God, her love for her children and humanity until her roots had no room to expand and her trunk of life was smothered.
January 10, 1978, at 8:10 P.M. she had a rendezvous with death. She met her appointment, at age 84, peacefully and admirably.
She was born April 26, 1894 to the late John and Frances Grant of Grovetown, Georgia.
She was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church which was consolidated later with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
