Daisy Lee Owens Johnson was bom in Blythe, Georgia on Augusta 22, 1923 to the late Jessie Owens and Cellia Walker. She departed this life at her resident on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Augusta, Georgia.
She graduated from Old Laney High School and attended Paine College. She worked many jobs during her life time, but her passion was caring for others and children. She was also a foster parent and in this area, she excelled.
In 2004 she received the Giving Your Best Award from WJBF Channel 6. She also received the Foster Parent of the Year Award. In her life time, she received many other awards and honors. She was a lady that wore many hats. She was a faithful member of the Hale St. Baptist Church until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Brenda (Clyde) Rouzan, Lewis (Phyllis) Johnson, Betty (James) Johnson, and James (Gloria) Bush of Augusta, GA., Vickie (Leon) Jackson o f North Augusta, SC., Calvin (Ola) Bush o f Augusta, GA., Larry Johnson of Detroit Michigan, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives, devoted friends and a very special friend, Mary Ann (Melvin) Parker.

D on't grievefo r me, for now I 'mfree, I 'mfollowing the path God laidfor me. I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times o f sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's beenfull, I savored much, Goodfriends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief D on't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me God wanted me now, He set me free.
The family wishes to thank each and everyone of you for the many acts of kindness and love shown to them during their time of bereavement. We ask that you keep us in your prayers.
