** OBITUARY**

On Monday, November 28th, 1988, Mrs. Ode Lowe Johnson entered into her rest. She was born on February 17, 1913 to the late James and Elizabeth Lowe in Lee County, Georgia.

In the 1940s she began her nursing training here in Augusta at the

University Hospital Lamar School of Nursing, and later continued

her education at the University of Maryland where she earned a

Masters Degree in Nursing.



In 1957 she married the late George M. Johnson.

A long time resident of Augusta, Ocie Johnson was a faithful and dedicated member of Trinity C.M.E. Church. She was a member of the White Rose Circle and is fondly remembered for her delicious cooking, especially her preserves and fruitcakes.

She was employed at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia; University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia; the Richmond County Public Health Department; and eventually retired from the Medical College of Georgia in the early 1970s as a member of their teaching faculty (Pre-Natal Care).

Survivors are: one sister, LaVallis Banks of Albany, Ga.; two step daughters, Charlehe Drumgold and Alethea Gregory both of Augusta, Ga.; two nephews, James and Robert Lowe both of Chicago, 111.; two nieces, Helen Banks of Atlanta, Ga. and Elaine Thomas of Albany, Ga.; and her dearest friend, Susie M. Buckner.
