Mrs. Mattie Johnson was born May 26, 1918 in Memphis, Tennessee to Thomas and Fannie Worthy, who preceded her in death.
Mattie was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Peter F. Johnson. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church. She worked for the University of Chicago for 31 years. She retired March 2, 1984.
Mattie Johnson departed this life Saturday, June 23, 1984. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her husband, Mr. Peter F, Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; step-son, Mr. Calvin A. Johnson of Brooklyn, New York; brother, Mr. Eugene Worthy of Memphis, Tennessee; ip/ther-ln-law, Mrs. Eula Mae Johnson of Augusta, Georgia; aunt, Mrs, Jennie W. Worthy of Milwaukee; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
