Mr. Elijah "Cadillac" Jefferson was born on December 24, 1936 to Mrs. Glady Jefferson Pless and the late Mr. Herbert Jefferson in Americus, Georgia.
A t an early age he was baptized a t the Mt. Carmel B a p tist Church in Americus, Georgia. Later he moved to Augusta, Georgia.
A t a young age he was employed by King Mill in Augusta, Georgia where he worked fo r twenty years until he retired. He met and married Mrs. Mary L. "Tina" Sellers Jefferson on May 16,1959. They were together fo r forty-five years, until his life ended.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: wife, Mrs. Mary L. Jefferson, two sons, Daniel (Beverly) Mackie and Darrell (Daniel!) Mackie; mother, Mrs. Glady Pless, father, Mr. George Pless, Jr., Americus, Georgia; five brothers, George (France) Pless, Brooklyn, New York, Willie Pless, Americus, Georgia, Robert (Beverly) Pless, College Park, Georgia, Felton Pless, Milledgeville, Georgia and Johnny Pless, Columbia, Georgia; seven sisters, Annie (Felton) Jackson, Buena Vista, Georgia, Bertha Pless, Melbourn, Fla., Ella Moran, Americus, Georgia, Ruby (Marvin) Lee, East Point, Georgia, Mae (Willie) Thomas, Buena Vista, Georgia, Bobby Sims and Glady Pless, Americus, Georgia; five grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae Sellers, Augusta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
