Home going celebration for Mr. Samuel Jackson, Saturday, July 21, 2001, 2:00 p.m., Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, 405 Sand Bar Ferry Road, Augusta, Georgia, Reverend William B. Blount, Sr., pastor, Reverend J. H. Sims, eulogy

Pest
God Was looking all over the world Looking at every man, woman, boy and girl
And so on this particular day His eyes fell on Sam in Augusta, G /A
And God sat back on his throne And said, "Sam is ready to come home."
So God looked at the angel to his left And in a mighty breath
He commanded the angel to go forth So the angel chartered a course That led him to Sam's bedside
There the angel saw all the pain inside So the angel had mercy and took his hand
And led him to the "Promised Land" There the angel placed him on the Lord's breast
And the Lord told Sam to "Rest" As he wiped away all of his tears For you have worked hard for many years You have been a father, a mentor, and a friend You have been there from the beginning to the end You have been a brother, husband, and a son You have tried to help every one You gave to the church and your community You loved and supported your friends and family Although we are sad that you left us here We know the Lord will dry your every tear For we all have been blessed even though it was a
short time You will live on forever in our heart and in our
mind.

'Daddy
We love you! Thank you for giving life, love, laughter and tears. Though you are no longer here, we will miss your smiling face, and other daughter and son precious memories that are in our hearts to stay.
We asked God to grant us patience; God said, " No, patience isn't granted it is earned" . We asked God to give us happiness, God said, " No, I give you blessings, happiness is up to you" .
We asked God for all things that we might enjoy life, God said " No, I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things" .
God gave you to us as a father and now He takes you as a child.
And we know that things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Go home to rest now, Daddy.
Love, Miranda and Dewayne
