On Friday; July 3rd, 2009 af 9;20 a.m., Oie c/eaf/i angeZ visited and took home a devoted mother; sister, aunt and grandmother; Sister Lizzie Mae Howard. She was born January 11th, 1929 to the late Idella Roberts Howard and Julius Howard, Sr. in Burke County, Georgia. She attended Fairfield School located in Waynesboro, Georgia.
At an early age, she joined McKinnie Branch Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Fairfield Baptist Church. She joined the church choir and served until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and eight sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Richard (Adrienne) Howard ofWaynesboro, GA, Alexander (Ora) Howard of Augusta, GA, Junior (Kwandra) Howard of Harrisburg, PA, Johnny (Elizabeth) Howard of Hinesville, GA and Willie (Sonia) Howard of Clarskville, TN; two daughters, Carrie Grubbs o f Augusta, GA and Hazel Slayon ofWaynesboro, GA; one sister, Mae Della Scott ofWaynesboro, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Howard and Fannie Howard of Augusta, GA; twentyfive grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As I wander down life's winding path, with chasms on each side,
I try to keep my eyes on God and with his word abide. I try to do the many things I know he wants me to
For on this earth I've little time cause I'm just passing through.
I know that every step I take requires his guiding hand. And by myself, I would be lost
to seek without a clue, the path to everlasting life while I am passing through.
Just like the pilgrim on life's road Eve faith in Jesus, who will guide me in the wilderness
while I am passing through.
So with a bowed head, I ask my Lord correct me when I stray and give me strength to overcome temptations everyday. Then when my life isfinished and my deeds He does review. I'll know I did my very best, while I was passing through.
