Obituary
As far as we have knowledge, man is the only one of all G od's created beings, to whom is given the information, that all earthly life must end in death.
The experience and observations of mankind early in life impresses upon man's mind the fact that death is the common lot of all races.
On the morning ofjuly 28, 1989 at 12:05 a.m. the angel of death came into the Holly family and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of our beloved Brother Ezekiel Holly, Jr. We know he is at rest with our Heavenly Father.
A son of the late Rev. Ezekiel Holly, Sr. and Mrs. Gussie Hankerson Holly, Brother Holly was born on May 20, 1922.
There are three steps to heaven -- out of self, into Christ, into Glory. Brother Holly took these first two steps in life and lived a beautiful life in Christ. Being reared in a Christian home he was baptized at an early age and joined the Jordan Baptist Church. After moving to Ft. Lauder dale, Fla., he united himself with the Greater New Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Upon returning to South Carolina in March of 1986, Bro. Holly reunited himself with theJordan Baptist Church and remained a Faithful member until his homegoing.
He was retired from the city of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he lived for 39 years and was married to the former Miss Oneather Williams. Blessed to this union were six children, one of whom is also resting in peace.
To his family he was loving and faithful, striving always to keep them happy and in material comforts of life.
Yes, we shall all miss him, but a life lived as Brother Ezekiel Holly, Jr. lived cannot die, but live on in the hearts and memories and ideals of all those who knew and loved him.
Cherishing a sacred memory are a loving wife, Mrs. Oneather W. Holly of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Gloria Davis, Gretna, La.; Mrs. Onetha L. Terry and Mrs. CynthiaJ. Miller, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Caroline C. Holly, Daytona Beach, Fla.; one son, Mr. Bernard Holly, Hampton, Va.; seven sisters, Mrs. Anna Parker, Jamaica, N.Y ., Mrs. Mercidean Myers, Barnwell, S.C ., Mrs. Agnes McTeer and Mrs. Dorothy Kirby, Columbia, S.C ., Mrs. Mamie Cave, Allendale, S.C ., Mrs. Alpha Anderson, Tren ton, S.C ., Mrs. Sarah Washington, Great Neck, N .Y .; two brothers, Mr. Ulysees Holly, Columbia, S.C. and Mr. Benjamin Holly, Hempstead, N .Y .; father-in-law, Mr. Isadore Williams, Barnwell, S.C.; three sons-inlaw, five sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law, three aunts, five grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted cousins and loving friends,7

I Shall Be Satisfied
" I shall be satisfied when I awake" not only on some future day o f days When I shall hear Him call me, and arise to leave the earth and all its changeful ways.
But now and here, each morning, when my sleep drops from me like a garment o f the night. When with the darkness all its fears depart, and I awake to find that it is light.
To feel the sting of memory's reproach, the consciousness of yesterday's defeats How much was purposed and how little done in all its small advanced and retreats.
To know a new day awaits me, with its tasks, its disappointed hopes, its vain desires Its oft-repeated failure to achieve the heights of faith to which my soul aspires.
Its humbling knowledge of my life's deep need, its weary ways o'er which my feet must plod. Yet, la m satisfied when I awake because I see his face, my Savior God.
Because I know He saves me, and He keeps that I am folded in His watchful care, And that He loves me with so great a love, no discontent can dim a sky so fair.
Despite all chance, all change, all circumstance if in His changeless will I may abide, Whatever o f seeming ill today may bring, yet I shall wake tomorrow satisfied. -- Selected
