"This Old Clay House" When Im Through with this old clay house of mine When no more guide lights through the windows shine,
Just box it up and lay it away with the other clay houses of yesterday.
When I meet with the great Architect Supreme* Face to face, I want to be clean;
Of course, I know its too late to mend A bad builded house when we come to the end.
I have lived in this house many days all alone. 4 Just waiting, and oh, how I long to go home! Dont misunderstand me-this old world is fine, With love, birds, and flowers and glorious sunshine,
Its a wonderful, place and a wonderful plan, And a wonderful, wonderful gift to man.
Yet somehow, I feel when this cycles complete, Therell be dear ones across Ill be anxious to meet.
Theyll open the books and check up my past, Therell be no forced balances, this is the last; each item checked, each page must be clean, Its the passport Ill carry to my Builder Supreme.
So the finest material to send up above Is clear, straight grained time of Brotherly Love. So when I am through with this old house of clay,
Just box it up tight and lay it away. -S. J. Monch
