One nigfit a man had a dream. H e dreamedhe zoos w olfing afong the heach w ith the LORD. Across the skyflashed scenesfrom his fife, fo r each scene, he noticed tw o sets o ffootprints in the sand: one belonged to
him,and the other the LORD.
W hen the last scene o f his fife ffashed before him, he bookedba d fa t the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times afong the path o f
his fife there was onfy one set o ffootprints.
He afso noticed that it happenedat the very lowest andsaddest tim e in his fife. This ready botheredhim and he questioned the LO RD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided tofollow you, y o u d w a lfw ith me a d the way". R ut I have noticed that dining the most troublesome times in my fife, there is onfy one set o ffootprints. I don't understand
why when I neededyou the most that you w ould feave me.
The LO RD repfied, "My precious child, I love you and I w ould never leave yo u During your times o f trials andsuffering, when you saw
onfy one set o ffootprints, it was then that I carriedyou"
