Mjr. Wiffie ^ee fester, was bom on May 26, 1927,
in Columbia County, Georgia to the late Mr. Burton Collie Hester, Sr. and Mrs. Lula White Hester.
He departed this life on October 3,1998.
Mr. Hester attended the public schools in Columbia County. He was baptized at an early age at the Crawford Grove Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Trustee and as a member of the Senior Choir.
He was married to Mrs. Alice Thomas Hester in 1954. To this union three children were bom.
Mr. Hester was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Civil Service, Fort Gordon and was a member of Jupiter Lodge #517.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Alice; three children, Rachel Lee and Ronnie G. Hester, of Augusta, GA; and Michael A. Hester, of Lithonia, GA; one grandson, Dion E. Givens, of Augusta, GA; one sister, Annie L. Burgess, of Augusta, GA; one godsister, Claudette Jefferson, of Columbus, GA; one sister-in-law, Mary Hester; one brother-in-law, Tom Thomas, Jr., both of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
